3/20/2007 Executive Board members Pandora Wright (Ace) & Dennis Fagundo (D&J Construction), along with Executive Vice President, Diane Gordon attended a two day forum hosted by CURE March 12th and 13th.
Titled "Tackling the Ideology of Racism and Privilige" an open discussion on race relations in Bermuda was conducted by Professor Robert Jensen and Dr. Bernestine Singley. Both acted as facilitators to the group in attendance comprising representatives in all areas of Bermuda.
The two day forum was an attempt to connect and share the concerns between groups. This then moved into a brainstorming for solutions. the most concrete proposals were for the education recommendations to be submitted formally to the education review board and on an individual level, not to accept racist comments % actions sliding by when in your presence. The two day forum is thought to have been a worthy venture and the Chamber is pleased to have represented the members.
